果味冰爽一饮间Treats to Beat the Heat

为什么？因为水还不够冰。
盛暑季节，碳酸饮料和合成果汁充斥着我们的冰箱，这时候一杯绚丽的冰饮抵得上千千万万的红颜知己。忙里偷闲来一杯冰凉果饮，仔细端详浑圆的杯壁，水汽成股流下，口感上比水果浓，比茶爽。灌一口入喉，涌向胃里的那股液体瞬间凝固了时间和空间，也清洗了燥热的身心。
It's August. The temperatures here in Nanjing are being posted on weather reports
around the world to offer some perspective: “It might be hot here, but at least
we're not in Nanjing.”
For those of us who are here, it is difficult to think about food. Somehow,
a heavy meal sitting in our stomachs is the last thing we crave. That is why this
month's Appetizers will focus on a more appropriate topic: summer treats. We go
in search of milkshakes, ice cream, frappes, fruit smoothies, and anything else
that might be delicious enough to take our minds off the thermometer, but won't
weigh us down when we're rudely snapped back to reality. Don't despair, the worst
is almost over; here are some ideas to get you through.
完美主义 美丽心情Happy Story
宁海中学后门对面的美丽心情餐厅店是小资白领时常光顾的休闲店，绿意盎然的小院儿长满了清凉的绿色植物，黑色的主调使得店门变得神秘莫测。店长不惜血本使用海外原料：比利时的蓝莓，法国的可可豆，小资到了细节里。原料自然健康，连孕妇和新生儿都在食用店里的甜品。
除了蛋糕甜点以外，美丽心情还以冰饮著名。五彩缤纷的色调迷醉了人眼。心酸的浪漫红黄搭配的颜色盛放在曲形的杯子里，挑战着视觉的对比色差。美丽蓝波橙里的bols blus透着冰爽的幽兰，冰块浮在表面，味道从底到顶由浓至淡，冲击着味蕾。新品蔓越莓拿铁冰咖啡把咖啡加上蔓越莓的口味，中和了咖啡的苦，顶部的奶沫更冲淡了涩的口感，使得拿铁也丝滑。奇异之旅顾名思义是奇异果制成，绿色的饮料里不含一点杂质。冰淇淋上烟雾弥漫营造的是一股完美主义的氛围。
In an unlikely little neighborhood off of Shanghai Lu, Happy Story is a diamond
in the rough. Though its menu also includes a tempting mix of Chinese and Western
appetizers and entrees, Happy Story's specialty drinks and desserts are a big draw
for customers all year round. Few restaurants in Nanjing can boast a menu that
includes diverse and flavorful drinks like the thick Mango Milkshake, the ice-cold
Kiwi Journey – with its fresh mix of kiwi and green apple – and the Raspberry Iced
Latte, a blend of bitter coffee and sweet raspberry mixing beautifully under a
creamy froth. Accompanying these drinks are a variety of international desserts:
the German Black Beer Chocolate Cake is the richest of its kind in town, while
the fluffy French Cheesecake is a lighter alternative. For those tired of convenience
store ice cream, Happy Story has the real thing with standouts like the Tiramisu
or Blueberry flavors. Chef Fang Junyi, who learned his trade during his time in
local five-star hotels, uses only the freshest fruits and highest quality ingredients,
imported from the U.S., France, Belgium, Italy, New Zealand, and Germany.
“Easy, simple and refreshing” is the motto behind Happy Story’s culinary creations.
It is also the recipe for a delicious escape from the summer heat.

醇厚质朴 玛琪雅朵Machiatto
“玛琪雅朵”是意大利最美丽、最高贵的一种鲜花名称，后为意大利一个民族部落信仰，成为一种生活精神。一个以此为名的冰饮店就开在新世界中心写字楼旁边，呼应了她意大利语的含义：一点点纯朴的美。店面不大却有两层小楼，嫣红的软垫沙发适合情侣间的小聚。冷气打的很足，不经意瞥见韩版小黑板、小药瓶这样的摆饰，心头竟生出一丝甜蜜。
玛琪雅朵最大的特色莫过于它的选料。所有的冰饮都是用醇厚的水果原味打造，很少用到冰块和冰水代替，冰镇的水果磨成酱与奶混合，切成粒，洒在杯顶，原来饮料也可以做得独家。广东来的师傅倾力打造出水果捞、双皮奶、班戟、冰沙等种种的地道粤式甜品，红黄蓝绿加上樱桃点缀，好似参加了一场果色生香的盛宴。平均16RMB这样亲和力的价格不仅在珠江路，整个市区内的清凉小站中，玛琪雅朵都不可多得。
This juice bar, drink and dessert destination off of Danfeng Jie can claim inspiration
for this month's Appetizers topic. Since it opened in June just outside of the
New World Center – where Map does its heavy lifting – Machiatto has become a favorite
among neighborhood locals and commuting office workers alike. And with an extensive
menu filled with affordably-priced treats made with the freshest ingredients and
the best imported Cantonese syrups, what's not to like? Machiatto's hits include
the Mango Coconut Milkshake, a tri-level mix of sweet rice, mango pieces, coconut
slices and milk. Heat beaters don't get any more tailor-made than the Chilled Mango
Sweet Rice With Grapefruit, a Slurpee-like blend of iced 7-Up and rose tea topped
with kiwi and papaya slices. Nothing brings about a ying-yang balance in summertime
like jello, and the Papaya Jello Refresher puts shaved iced tea, papaya and whipped
cream on a bed of Christmas-y green and red cubes.
